The Natural History of Slapton Ley | Site Description
Habitats
Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve (NNR) covers an area of 214.7 hectares; the NNR supports a diverse range of habitats within its boundaries, with a correspondingly broad biodiversity in terms of both fauna and flora. This habitat mosaic presents significant challenges to the site management strategy, as the individual habitats often demand management prescriptions specific to that particular regime.
The principal habitats of Slapton Ley NNR are more specifically described on the accompanying habitat map.
