Beach Information Volunteers
Why we want you
To ensure the thousands of visitors to Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve have a great and memorable experience. The role is to assist our staff and volunteers to operate the Slapton Ley Beach Trailer located on Slapton Sands. Engaging with visitors your duties will include answering questions, promoting our events, taking event bookings, assisting with activities and encouraging people to explore the nature reserve.
What’s in it for you?
Spend the summer on the beach enjoying far reaching views of the coast and Slapton Ley. You will be helping the Field Studies Council (FSC), a pioneering educational charity committed to bringing environmental understanding to all. Working with our experienced staff and dedicated volunteers, you will meet people, learn about the nature reserve and share your love of the local area. You can also enjoy tea and homemade cakes.
The skills you need
We are looking for someone who enjoys the natural environment and has some knowledge of the local area. You will be polite and happy to answer questions. You will be willing to help out with basic educational activities with children.
Commitment
Summer holidays (late July to September) from one to five days a week, 12 noon – 4pm.
